When cancer invaded my Mom’s world
and thrust our whole family into this painful time
filled with fear, uncertainty, and a sense of helplessness,
we had no choice but to face it all.

We faced a truth we didn’t want to hear.

The thought of losing Mom was so painful to even think about.
This is not something we would have ever chosen.

Yet, you chose to be here, to walk through this with her.
You didn’t have to.
You were there for her. You were there for us.

You and your precious daughter, as Hospice volunteers,
chose to help, and you did. Probably more than you can ever know.

You made a difference in a special lady’s life.
Your gift, so generous and so simple really.
You simply cared.

So many people never take the time to care.

What you did through your presence in Mom’s life, and
in our lives will be forever appreciated.

The rest of the world went on with its busy life,
But you chose to be here.
