Seeing Through A Glass Darkly

All through the night
Watching her life slowly come to an end
My eyes glanced to my left
And I saw her reflection in the dark glass panel
Of the front of her microwave oven where she loved to make popcorn.
Seeing the reflection of Mom in that dark glass
Reminded me of the scripture about how
We see through a glass darkly but one day
We will see God face to face. (I Cor 13:12)
I am comforted by the front panel of a microwave, in a strange way
Reminded that all that I can feel right now is the anguish of losing someone
I love
But there is more happening here than what I see.
She is departing to a place that
Has no pain and has overcome death.
I wish I could see through to the other side.
But alas, I see through a glass darkly.
Mom will see clearly soon.
KJV 1 Cor 13:12: "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but
then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know
even as also I am known."
NIV 1 Cor 13:12: "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a
mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then
I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. " NIV
