Here it is, my birthday.  

Funny how little events can sort of "sneak up on me"
and trigger a melancholy moment.

Last year, at this time, Mom gave me the last
birthday card I would ever receive from her.
It was only a few weeks later that she passed away.

What a "connection" I feel to her on this day.
Though today is MY birthday, there is no other
person on this planet who was more impacted by my birth than my mother.

So on this birthday of mine, I celebrate my mom.

If your mom is still alive, do something special for her, the next
time you celebrate your birthday.

Thanks Mom for the gift of life.
