Photography Basics
We cover the basics of photography in this 8 hour workshop (including lunch).  This will be a mix of classroom teaching and hands-on learning, so bring your cameras!  We'll explain how digital cameras work, with plenty of time to answer questions.  This is more than just a class on how to use your camera.  This is a class on photography and the information you learn will help you regardless of what camera you own.

We'll give you lots of great tips and techniques that will have you taking better photos by the end of the workshop!  

Fun and Creative Photography
Photography can be lots of fun! We'll show you some fun things you can do with your camera and give you several ideas for creative techniques.

The things you learn in this class will help you take
better photos for the rest of your life!

You - The Photographer
A big part of understanding "photography" is really about understanding "you".  We'll help you see ways that you can use photography as an expression of you and how you see the world.

Class Format:
Our class will meet from 9:00am until 5pm, with a lunch break (we'll provide lunch).  We'll also go on an outing to a nearby park (weather permitting) so bring your camera!  (Your parent will need to sign a permission form for this.)

About the Instructor:
Kevin Gourley has been an avid photographer for over 35 years. He has taught classes on many aspects of photography through the years, and has led various photography groups. Kevin is an award-winning nationally published professional photographer and has a full-service photography studio in NW Austin, and specializes in portraiture, commercial photography, fine art, and landscape photography.  Kevin took his first photography class at age 16 at a museum, and he fell in love with photography.  He's excited to help other young people fall in love with photography!
